Sagemcom Dr. Neuhaus Receives New SiLKe Certification from BSI: SMGW Transport via MSB Supply Chain Now Possible

Sagemcom Dr. Neuhaus is pleased to announce that metering point operators (MSBs) can now implement the secure supply chain (SiLKe) more easily, and that Siconia® SMARTY IQ Smart Meter Gateways (SMGWs) may now be shipped via the MSB supply chain. This highlights Sagemcom’s leading role in the secure and efficient digitalization of the energy transition.

As part of the rollout of smart metering systems (iMSys), the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), together with the “Secure Logistics Chain” project group of the Forum Netztechnik/Netzbetrieb in the VDE (FNN), published a requirements catalog for the so-called MSB supply chain. Sagemcom Dr. Neuhaus has proactively integrated these requirements into its processes and now offers customers the option to use the MSB supply chain in addition to the existing SiLKe. The prerequisite is that the respective MSB presents a security concept that complies with the BSI requirements catalog for the MSB supply chain. In this case, the MSB can independently carry out the secure supply chain starting from goods receipt (e.g., from the secured area of the legal owner).
