Sagemcom Dr. Neuhaus Smart Meter Gateway added to Schleupen whitelist – cooperation strengthens interoperable solutions for the smart meter rollout
Hamburg, 4th September 2026
Sagemcom Dr. Neuhaus GmbH announces that its SICONIA® SMARTY IQ-LTE smart meter gateway has been successfully added to the whitelist of software provider Schleupen. This officially confirms interoperability with the Schleupen system landscape and approves the gateway for use in corresponding environments.
The inclusion is based on extensive integration and interoperability tests. These tests focused in particular on seamless integration into the Schleupen systems as well as the secure processing and transmission of metering data in accordance with the requirements of the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI).
A particular added value of the cooperation is the close integration of the smart meter gateway and the gateway administration system (GWA). Schleupen relies on the proven GWA system from Sagemcom Fröschl, which has been established for many years. The close coordination between the gateway manufacturer and the GWA provider, together with the continuous collaboration of all parties involved, ensures a high level of interoperability and system security – both in test environments and in productive operation. Metering point operators benefit from a stable, field-proven solution that efficiently supports the rollout of smart metering systems, reduces integration efforts and at the same time meets demanding regulatory requirements.
“With the inclusion of our SICONIA® SMARTY IQ-LTE smart meter gateway in the Schleupen whitelist, we are strengthening our position as a reliable partner in the smart meter rollout and making it easier for small and medium-sized MSBs in particular to get started. With attractive procurement models and precisely tailored solution packages, we lower the barriers to entry and enable economically efficient access to interoperable smart meter infrastructures. We are also happy to provide Schleupen customers with personal support during the implementation phase,” says Dr. Holger Graetz, Director Sales & Marketing Sagemcom Energy & Telecom, at Sagemcom Dr. Neuhaus GmbH.
Schleupen also emphasizes the importance of the integration: “The partnership with Sagemcom Dr. Neuhaus is a key success factor for us in the smart meter rollout. The combination of technological expertise, proven systems and close coordination enables a high level of interoperability and operational reliability. Together, we offer practical and cost-effective solutions, especially also for small and medium-sized metering point operators, thereby creating the basis for an efficient and future-proof rollout of smart metering systems,” says Benjamin Deppe, Head of Digital Energy Transition at Schleupen SE.
