Efficient Control Rollout: Sagemcom Dr. Neuhaus with New Certification for the Siconia® SMARTY IQ SMGW Series

Sagemcom Dr. Neuhaus announces the release of another successfully certified firmware update for the Smart Meter Gateway (SMGW) Siconia® SMARTY IQ series. The update was developed in compliance with the technical guidelines of the BSI and Common Criteria and meets all relevant requirements in terms of functionality and interoperability as part of an intelligent metering system in accordance with the Metering Point Operation Act. In addition, it supports the efficient control rollout with a variety of new features.
With the new firmware update, the Siconia® SMARTY IQ series achieves a new level of functionality and interoperability. The Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB) and the Federal Cybersecurity Authority have certified the update according to the BSI-CC-PP-0073 Protection Profile, the PTB-A 50.8 type examination certificate, and the BSI TR-03109 technical guideline.
Extended Functions and Increased Efficiency
The new firmware update enhances the Smart Meter Gateway series Siconia® SMARTY IQ with numerous new functions and features, particularly optimizing the control rollout. Metering point operators can now efficiently manage controllable consumption and feed-in devices, including in accordance with Section 14a EnWG. This ensures high efficiency and flexibility when integrating and managing intelligent metering systems.
In addition, the optimized LTE and Ethernet interface ensures reliable and highly available measurement data transmission. A new addition is the 450 MHz communication option, which provides access to the nationwide platform for operators of critical infrastructures. Further efficiency gains are achieved through the implementation of the new compact profile, which allows several wMBus meters with TAF7 tariff use case to be connected to a smart meter gateway simultaneously and in a highly efficient manner in compliance with calibration law.
