Sagemcom Standardizes on RDK Software Across Global Broadband Portfolio

Barcelona, March 4, 2025

At Mobile World Congress, Sagemcom, a leading global broadband equipment manufacturer, and RDK Management today announced the availability of RDK-B (RDK for Broadband) software across Sagemcom’s complete portfolio of broadband customer premises equipment (CPE) including DOCSIS 4.0, DOCSIS 3.1, XGS-PON, GPON fiber gateways, and 5G Fixed Wireless Access solutions.

The comprehensive adoption of RDK-B strengthens Sagemcom's ability to deliver innovative broadband solutions to service providers worldwide. The company is currently deploying RDK-powered devices across Europe, North America, and Latin America regions, enabling operators to standardize their CPE software stack with flexibility in bringing innovative services with a rapid time to market.

"Enabling RDK-B across our broadband portfolio represents a significant milestone in our commitment to providing operators with powerful, consistent software solutions," said Boris Nabedryk, Executive Vice President of Broadband at Sagemcom. "By leveraging RDK's common framework, we can accelerate innovation and provide our global customers with feature-rich devices that deliver superior broadband experiences to their subscribers."

RDK is an open-source software solution deployed on more than 100 million devices that standardizes core functions used in broadband and video devices. For broadband specifically, RDK-B provides core functionalities including device management, telemetry, Wi-Fi services, Ethernet access, IPv6 transitioning and more that work across all major network access technologies including DOCSIS, GPON, DSL, and Fixed Wireless Access (FWA). By packaging and open sourcing these functions in a single standard software stack, service providers can develop, deploy, and manage a consistent set of broadband services across SoCs for use across their networks and geographic footprints. This standardization enables faster deployment of new services while reducing integration complexity.

"Sagemcom's extensive adoption of RDK demonstrates the platform's versatility across different broadband technologies," said Jason Briggs, President and General Manager of RDK. "Their commitment to implementing RDK across their portfolio can help operators streamline development, accelerate time to market, and deliver exceptional broadband experiences to consumers worldwide."

The RDK-powered portfolio includes:

  • Next-generation DOCSIS 4.0 gateways
  • DOCSIS 3.1 devices
  • XGS-PON & GPON fiber gateways
  • 5G Fixed Wireless Access solutions
  • Advanced Wi-Fi 7 capabilities
